“That’s Babylon” is a fictional drama based on Caribbean theme. This story is a vertical
reflection on events that could take place in a life of an immigrant while adjusting to a new
lifestyle. Reality such as morality, along with unexpected circumstances, and navigating through
bureaucracies are part of other hurdles to overcome. And those conditions may occur to
someone while making those adjustments. (This book required a specific literary craftsmanship
because of its strong theme).

Once upon a time, there was a man named “Leroy Williamson” who migrated to the United
States (from Jamaica), when he was 24 years old. Before leaving Jamaica 33 years earlier, he
was divorced with have a 5-year-old son named Derek. And after Leroy left for the United
States of America in pursue of better opportunity, Derek was raised by his grandmother in
Jamaica.

Leroy Williamson, (was 57 years old); worked in the grocery business in Fort Lauderdale area of
Florida, his boss of 30 years was a man named Mr. Dale-Heartspence. Leroy maintains the
quality of products, customer satisfaction and a general good image for the groceries store, and
he has done very well over the years. Mr. Dale-Heartspence who owned the produce store was
98 years old. Before he passed away, he gave his loyal employee (Mr. Williamson) a piece of
land plus eight thousand dollars.

When the estate was settled, Leroy Williamson uses a portion of the money to hire a surveyor
to survey a portion of the land to bear his name as stipulated in Mr. Dale-Heartspence’s
probate will. Back in his native Jamaica; his only son ……., and finally a happy ending.
